Thousands of ex-servicemen of Uttarakhand will be deployed in the border area

The Chief Minister said that in the last five-six years, about 600 km of construction has been going on on 13 roads in Pithoragarh, Uttarkashi, and Chamoli. Many important establishments and offices of the country are located in Uttarakhand.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the state government is working on the Him Prahari scheme to stop migration in the border area. Under this, ten thousand ex-servicemen, paramilitary, and youth will be trained and posted in the frontier. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami presented a blueprint of the state’s preparedness for internal security at the Chintan Shivir of the state’s home ministers organized under the chairmanship of Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Surajkund, Haryana on Thursday. Dhami said that the marginal villages are the first watchdogs of the country and it is the duty of the government to develop them properly. To stop migration from these areas, a campaign is going on to connect the local youth with the NCC.

Similarly, work is going on on the Him Prahari scheme to train 10,000 retired soldiers, paramilitary, and youth of the state about border security and deploy them in the frontier. The assistance of Rs 5 crore per month is expected from the Central Government. The Center has also been requested to relax the inner line restrictions to increase tourism in the border areas. Dhami said that Uttarakhand shares difficult geographical conditions as well as borders with Tibet, China, and Nepal. Therefore, the state gives the topmost place to national security. He said that an expert committee has been constituted to implement the Uniform Civil Code in the state for the smooth functioning of law and order. Residents of all religions in the state will be benefited from the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code. This will improve the condition of women especially.

Emphasis on infrastructure development in the frontier

Similarly, the state government is also responsible for the safety of domestic and foreign tourists visiting the state and crores of pilgrims visiting Char Dham, Kanvad Yatra. Uttarakhand gets helicopters for disaster relief
The CM said that in many villages in Uttarakhand, even today the revenue police is looking after the work of regular police. But now the government has decided to give revenue police areas to regular police in a phased manner.The CM raised the demand for a one-time grant of Rs 750 crore to the state government for new police stations, police posts as well as residential facilities for police personnel. An app is proposed to be made for the safety of women in the workplace for women’s safety. The CM also advocated for providing helicopters to SDRF from the level of the central government for relief and rescue in disaster.
