Mussoorie-Nainital, temprature dropped by four degrees in Uttarakhand

Uttarakhand Weather Update There was heavy snowfall in Char Dham amidst cloudy camps throughout the day. While snowflakes fell in Mussoorie and Nainital. There was a possibility of snowfall in Mussoorie and Nainital till late night.

Jagran Correspondent, Dehradun. Uttarakhand Weather Update The weather has changed in Uttarakhand. There was a lot of snowfall in Char Dham amidst cloud cover throughout the state. Whereas, snowflakes fell in Mussoorie and Nainital. There was a possibility of snowfall in Mussoorie and Nainital till late night. Meanwhile, in most areas of the state, the temperature dropped by three to four degrees Celsius in the last 24 hours. According to the Meteorological Department, there will be a possibility of rain and snowfall in the hill districts for the next four days in the state. This can also increase the cold in the plains.

Due to the active western disturbance in the Himalayan region, the weather pattern has changed in Uttarakhand. On Sunday morning, there was a camp of clouds across the state. There was a light drizzle in the mountains. Whereas, the four dhams including Badrinath, Kedarnath received snow in the late evening. Apart from this, the high peaks of Hemkund Sahib, Pithoragarh also received snowfall. In Mussoorie, cold winds continued to blow through the clouds throughout the day. Light showers fell in the evening and the tourists waited for the snowfall. There was a possibility of snowfall in Mussoorie till late night.

On the other hand, in Nainital too, snowflakes fell for some time in the evening. In the plains including Doon, the maximum mercury dipped and the freezing cold between three to four degrees Celsius took the test. Udham Singh Nagar was the only district where the maximum temperature exceeded 20 degree Celsius. Apart from this, the temperature reached below this in all the districts. The minimum temperature remained around normal. According to the director of the Meteorological Center, Bikram Singh, the mood of the weather may change till the arrival of the new year in Uttarakhand. Chances of rain and snowfall will remain in the hilly districts. In the next two to three days, there is a possibility of snowfall in the areas above 2500 meters.
