Passengers were also surprised when the bomb squad reached the bus stand. The bomb disposal squad is continuously running a checking campaign regarding the Kanwar fair.

The bomb squad searched all areas of the Roorkee bus stand.SP Countryside Parmendra Dobal said that from the point of view of security, a continuous checking campaign is being conducted. The Kanwar Yatra of Sawan month is now gaining momentum. Along with this, the security system has been increased further. People are coming to Uttarakhand with Kanwar from many states including Delhi, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh.  

Tight security arrangements have been made by the Haridwar administration police. Earlier on Sunday, in view of the Kavad Yatra, the bomb squad conducted an intensive checking operation at Roorkee railway station. Bomb Squad, Dog Squad, GRP, and Gangnahar Kotwali Police were present during the checking.

In the joint checking operation, apart from the baggage of the passengers, every detail of the station premises, and ticket house was searched. All were found normal upon checking. Bomb squad in charge (Chamoli) Mahipal Singh said that an intensive checking operation was conducted at the station on Sunday.No suspicious person or object was found in the checking. Everything was normal. Told that there was a routine checking campaign.
