Dehradun. There is good news for those traveling from Dehradun to Delhi. In fact, now for the first time, passengers on the Dehradun to Delhi route will be able to travel comfortably by electric buses. Uttarakhand Transport Corporation (UTC) has got five electric buses to run from Dehradun to Delhi route. Transport Minister Chandan Ram Das flagged off electric buses. The government has taken this step to make the environment pollution free. These buses belong to the super luxury category with comfortable seats, mobile chargers, reading lights, and more leg space.

Let us tell you, due to the absence of engines in these buses, there is no sound coming out of the vehicles. The capacity of a bus is 45 passengers. This bus can run for about 300 kilometers after charging. Till now electric buses were being operated within Dehradun city only as city buses. Now Uttarakhand has come among the leading states in the operation of electric buses on long-distance routes. If the operation of these five buses is successful, then in the coming time 50 more electric buses will be operated on intra-state and inter-state routes.

Now 5 electric buses will be seen running on the Dehradun-Delhi route, with a target of running 610 electric buses in a year. Transport Minister Chandan Ramdas flagged off these buses on Saturday. In fact, the Delhi government had recently decided to ban the entry of BS-IV vehicles in Delhi, which may have been extended till March 31, but in this episode, these pollution-free buses have got a green signal.

How much will the fare for Volvo buses 

The Transport Corporation has intensified the purchase of BS-6 and electric and CNG buses. 5 electric buses will now start running between Dehradun to Delhi. 45 people can travel on the bus. The fare of the bus will be as much as the Volvo bus i.e. around Rs 888. This is the first bus to run between Delhi-Dehradun on the long-distance route, there are 4 charging points in the middle of the route.
