Uttarakhand Weather: Cloud burst in Dehradun

Director of Meteorological Center and senior meteorologist Vikram Singh said that there is a possibility of heavy rain in some areas of Dehradun, Bageshwar in the next 24 hours. In such a situation, there is a need to have officers attached to the disaster management department.

There is news of a cloudburst in the Dehradun district last night. People gave this information in Sarkhet village of Raipur block. The SDRF team reached the spot as soon as the information was received. After the incident, all the people trapped in the village were rescued safely. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has warned of heavy rains in many districts.  

Due to the change of weather, it rained heavily from the ground to the mountain yesterday. The highest rainfall of 152 mm has been recorded in Khatima of Kumaon and 97.5 mm in the Sahastradhara area of ​​Dehradun. At the same time, the Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rain in three districts during the next 24 hours.

 Rivers in spate due to rain, administration alert 

Saung, Suswa, and Chandrabhaga rivers have come in spate due to rain. At the same time, the water level of Bengala Nala and other small drains also increased. After the incessant rain, the administration alerted the flood posts. At the same time, SDRF has also been asked to be ready to deal with any situation. At the same time, near Premnagar in Dehradun, the Tons river came in spate.

The river drains around the city have come in spate. Chandrabhaga, Saung, Suswa river and Bengala Nala are in spate due to rain. In the areas where there is no arrangement for the drainage of rainwater, the roads have become like ponds. At the same time, land erosion has started in Khadri and Gauhari Mafi due to the rising water level of the Saung river. 

Vinod Juglan, a resident of Khadri, said that due to the rise in the water level of the rivers, land erosion has started. He said that solar energy wire fencing was also installed by the irrigation department along with the anti-pig wall in the area, which also got affected by erosion. 

On the other hand, in view of the possibility of the Chandrabhaga river coming into spate and increasing the water level of Ganga river, the administration asked people living in Mayakund, Chandeshwar Nagar, Chandrabhaga river banks, and slum dwellers to move to safer places. The administration team was asking people living in Mayakund, Chandreshwar Nagar, and on the banks of the Chandrabhaga river to move to safer places. 

All flood posts have been alerted. People living on the banks of the river have been made to move to safer places. Funding is being done for this. The administration is ready to deal with any situation.
