Jagran Correspondent, Pithoragarh : Tour the Adi Kailas Cycle Rally : Under the Amrit Festival of Independence, the focal point of the Beas Valley bordering China will be buzzing. Cyclists have left for Gunji for the cycle rally to be held on this occasion. The officers and employees of the committee constituted at the administration level for organizing Tour the Adi Kailas Cycle Rally have left for Gunji. Seventy-five national flags will be flown simultaneously at Gunji at an altitude of 10,500 feet on Wednesday. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will reach Gunji and inaugurate the program and will encourage the cyclists.

Gunji has been decorated for the program to be organized under Amrit Mahotsav. Cyclists will reach Gunji by late Monday evening. Apart from this, the officers and staff deployed for the program have also left for Gunji. River guides and trainees, who conduct river rafting in Kuti Yangti, will leave on Tuesday under the leadership of Dinesh Guru Rani, Adventure Manager of KMVN. By Tuesday evening, all the people associated with the program will reach Gunji. According to the information received from the administration, arrangements have been made for the stay of all.

According to the information received from Dharchula, at present the Dharchula-Tawaghat-Lipulekh road is fully open. Traffic is normal. The weather has also remained very pleasant after light snowfall in the area. Cyclists from other states including Delhi, NCR, Jammu and Kashmir, Karnataka, Mumbai, who came to participate in the cycle tour, are happy about the weather here. During this three-day program, which will run from May 25 to 27, there will be movement in the high Himalayas from Adi Kailas to Navidhang Om Parvat. The cycle rally will be held up to Gunji, 36 km from Adi Kailas and 18 km from Navidhang. This program, being held for the first time in this area, will give a different identity to the area.

District Magistrate Pithoragarh Dr. Ashish Chauhan informed that all the work regarding this program being organized under Amrit Mahotsav is being done in a systematic manner. All have been instructed to make this program successful. Different responsibilities have been assigned to the officers. No deficiency will be allowed in the program. Through this program, Pithoragarh and Uttarakhand have to be brought on the cycling map by making this event an international event.
