Three officers of the Central Bank of India bought gold by withdrawing more than Rs 30.95 lakh from the customer’s bank account. The STF has arrested the accused branch manager, assistant branch manager and assistant field officer in this case. The arrested accused used to withdraw money by changing the personal details of long-dormant accounts in the bank and then invest in gold. A similar case is also related to another bank branch, which is currently under investigation.

According to STF SSP Ajay Singh, in the past, Atul Kumar Sharma resident Herbertpur Vikasnagar had filed a case at Cyber ​​Crime Police Station. He had told that his mother has a savings account in the Central Bank of India branch in Herbertpur. Recently, someone withdrew Rs 30.95 lakh from his account through internet banking. He did not even get any SMS for this transaction.

In this case, investigation was started by registering a case in the cyber police station. Initially the CCTV footage was scanned. After this the account was checked and it was found that online gold is being bought with the money deposited in this account. The profit that is coming from this is not even being deposited in it. After this the cyber police checked various wallets. In the initial investigation itself, the name of the bank branch manager Nischal Rathore resident Shahbazpur Jinora Badaun UP came out.

On Tuesday, the STF arrested the accused Nischal Rathore from Karolbagh in Delhi. After this, Assistant Field Officer Azam resident Indira Colony Pantnagar USnagar and Assistant Branch Manager Kavish Dang resident Vikasnagar were arrested from Selakui. Laptops, tabs, SIM cards and passbooks were also found from the accused.

Frauds were changing SMS alert numbers

Accused Nischal Rathore told during interrogation that he hatched the plan with his bank’s assistant field officer Azam and assistant manager Kavish Dung. They used to choose those accounts in which no transactions are taking place for a long time. Then they used to change the SMS alert number of inactive accounts. After this, they used to withdraw money through net-mobile banking. Used to buy gold online with this money, then sell it and earn profit.
