Free ration distribution in Uttarakhand
Like UP, people in Uttarakhand are also going to get its benefits under the free ration scheme. Under the free grain scheme, Uttarakhand has got the quota of wheat and rice. This will benefit 62 lakh people.
Under the free grain scheme, Uttarakhand got the quota of wheat and rice. The central government has given food grains at the rate of three kg wheat and two kg rice to 61.94 lakh people of the state. This scheme, which is going to end on 31 March 2022, will continue till September 2022. On the other hand, wheat procurement is also going to start at government centers from April 1. Food Minister Rekha Arya has directed the officials to distribute food grains on time to all eligible ration card holders.
In order to provide relief to the poor families during the Corona period, the Central Government had started the free food grain scheme. For 19 months in the state, people have got five kilograms of food grains every month under this scheme. The Food Minister said that the Central Government has extended the scheme for a further six months. Instructions have been given to the officials to provide food grains to every eligible person on time. It is to be known that the monthly consumption of the state under this scheme is 1.80 lakh quintals of wheat and 1.20 lakh quintals of rice.
Arya said that the wheat procurement session is also going to start from Friday. This year the government has set a target to procure 2.20 lakh metric tonnes of wheat. At all procurement centers, all arrangements have been made to ensure the facilities of the farmers.
