Dengue in Uttarakhand.

A total of 643 cases of dengue have been reported in the state till August 28, while one patient has died due to dengue in Dehradun. The number of patients with plan dengue symptoms is increasing in government and private hospitals.

Dengue infection is on the rise in the plains districts of Uttarakhand. The figure for dengue patients has crossed 600 in six districts. Dehradun district accounts for 65 percent of the total dengue cases, while seven hill districts have not reported a single case of dengue so far.

A total of 643 cases of dengue have been reported in the state till August 28, while one patient has died due to dengue in Dehradun. The number of patients with plan dengue symptoms is increasing in government and private hospitals. Dengue infection is spreading rapidly in Dehradun district. Out of the total cases, 418 cases have been found in Dehradun district.

Dengue has been confirmed in 41 patients in five districts on Monday. In this, 19 cases have been found in Dehradun district, 15 in Nainital, three in Pauri, three in Chamoli, and one in Udham Singh Nagar district. State Vector Borne Disease Control Program Officer Dr. Pankaj Singh said dengue is under control in the state. So far dengue infected cases have been found in only six districts. He said, an atmosphere of fear and uneasiness about dengue is created among the people as soon as the fever comes in the rainy season, whereas people should not panic. There is a need to be alert for this. If the platelet count of a dengue patient is more than 10,000, there is no need for a platelet transfusion.
