Bhopalpani bridge news: Why is CRRI asking 30 lakhs for the Bhopalpani bridge dehradun?
The Central Road Research Institute requested INR 30 lakhs for the examination of the Bhopalpani bridge.
The Central Road Research Institute (CRRI) has requested INR 30 lakh from the Public Works Department (PWD) for a thorough technical examination of the Bhopalpani bridge. The Executive Engineer of PWD National Highway submitted the proposal from CRRI to the headquarters.
Reason for request 30 lakh on Bhopalpani bridge dehradun
It is important to note that the approach road of the Bhopalpani bridge on the Dehradun-Thano road had given way three months prior. Before it could be fixed, the entire wall of the approach road also crumbled. Nevertheless, at the directive of top officials, engineers swiftly restored traffic by constructing temporary roads on either side of the bridge.
Upon the instruction of the Secretary of the Public Works Department (PWD), an investigation into the matter was conducted and responsibility was assigned to the Chief Engineer of PWD, DK Yadav.
What says PWD?
The Executive Engineer of the Public Works Department (PWD), Praveen Kumar, composed a letter to the Central Road Research Institute (CRRI) to assess the design and construction quality of the Bhopalpani bridge.
A team of experts from CRRI conducted an initial examination of the design and construction quality of the bridge. CRRI has now requested INR 30 lakh from PWD National Highway for a more thorough investigation.
Executive Engineer Praveen Kumar stated that the proposal from CRRI has been sent to headquarters and the final decision regarding the fee will be made at the headquarters level only.
