Mobile Phones Banned Within 200 Meters of Chardham Temple

Chardham Yatra: Some people are reaching Chardham Yatra whose aim is not faith but to roam around and have fun. Considering such people, the Uttarakhand government has taken an important step. Under this, mobile phones will be banned within 200 meters of the temple.

Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Radha Raturi issued guidelines and said strict action would be taken against those who do not follow these rules. A large number of devotees are coming for the Chardham Yatra. Among them, there are many whose purpose is only to roam around. Due to some actions of such people, people’s faith is getting hurt.

Due to this, the government has decided to ban mobiles. We are sending letters to the Chief Secretaries of all the states that no devotee should come in an unregistered vehicle or without registration. The registration system for the Char Dham Darshan has started on the Tourism Department’s website. The Chief Secretary clarified that there has been no stampede anywhere. If anyone spreads such a rumor, action will be taken against him.

Huge crowds of devotees are gathering at the temples in Char Dham are filled with crowds these days. 1,55,584 pilgrims have reached Kedarnath in six days. More than 10 thousand pilgrims are reaching Yamunotri Dham every day. More than 12 thousand pilgrims are coming to Gangotri Dham daily. Both the Dhams are getting more pilgrims than their capacity. People coming from hot places have difficulty acclimatizing to the conditions.

This is the reason that so far 12 people have died at different places on the Yatra route. To avoid this, the health department has also issued health advisories in a total of 14 languages. On the other hand, the doors of Rudranath Temple, the fourth Kedarnath out of the Panch Kedars located in the high Himalayas, will be opened on May 18.
