Pune Porsche accident: Two doctors arrested for tampering with minor’s blood sample

These days, the country is discussing the road accident that happened in Pune. Here, a high-speed luxury car hit a motorcycle, in which two people died. The car was being driven by a 17-year-old minor, who was drunk. New revelations are being made every day in this case. Now Pune Police have arrested two doctors on charges of tampering with the minor’s blood sample and destroying evidence.
Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar said that two doctors of Sassoon General Hospital have been arrested for allegedly tampering with the blood samples of a minor and destroying evidence. The head of the hospital’s forensic department is also among those arrested. The arrested persons have been identified as Dr Ajay Tavare and Shrihari Harnor. At present, the Crime Branch is investigating the case.
“The blood sample taken at Sassoon Hospital on May 19 at around 11 am was thrown in the hospital dustbin and another person’s
blood sample was taken and sent to the forensic lab. CMO Srihari Halnor replaced this blood sample. During the investigation, we found that Srihari Halnor replaced it on the instructions of Ajay Tavare, HOD of Sasoon’s forensic medicine department,” the senior official said.
Earlier on Saturday, the minor’s grandfather was arrested for kidnapping the driver, threatening him, and forcing him to confess the crime. Two officers have also been suspended in this case.
In Pune city, on the intervening night of 18-19 May, a 17-year-old boy hit a bike while driving a Porsche car worth about three crore rupees at high speed. The collision was so strong that the bike lost its balance and kept dragging on the road for a long distance, due to which two people riding on it died on the spot. People present at the spot informed the police about the accident, after which the accused minor was arrested.
14 hours after this incident, the accused minor got bail from the court with some conditions. The court had directed him to work with the traffic police for 15 days and write an essay of 300 words on the impact and solution of road accidents. Later, when the controversy increased, the court canceled his bail. After this, he was sent to an observation home till June 5. Apart from this, the minor’s father and grandfather have also been arrested in this case so far.
