Driver-conductor will have an eye test for Char Dham Yatra

Chief Medical Officer Dehradun has appointed a team of six eye assistants to conduct eye tests of drivers and conductors coming to Chardham.

The health department will conduct a separate eye test of drivers and conductors with commercial vehicles for the Chardham Yatra. For this, the Chief Medical Officer of Dehradun has formed a team of six eye assistants who will be on roster-wise duty for the Chardham Yatra.

This facility will be provided at Rishikesh’s divisional transport office premises. In a letter sent by the chief medical officer to the ARTO Rishikesh, it has been told that Anil Kumar Tamta of Coronation Hospital will be on duty from May 7 to May 21, Rajendra Devradi from the same hospital from May 22 to June 6, Kshitij Bisht from June 6 to June 20, Akhilesh Sharma from 21 to July 5, Dinesh Rawat of CHC Doiwala from July 6 to July 20 and Neelam Payal from July 21 to August 4. During this period, eye tests and health tests of all the drivers and conductors will also be done. The transport department has taken this initiative intending to reduce accidents.

Ban on leave of transport workers during Chardham Yatra

The Transport Headquarters has banned the leave of the officers and employees of the Transport Department during the Chardham Yatra. Joint Transport Commissioner Sanat Kumar Singh said that like every year, this year too this ban will be effective during the Chardham Yatra. He said that leave will not be given except in unavoidable circumstances.
