Char Dham Yatra 2022: Heart attack of seven pilgrims and death of two trekkers in the accident

With the opening of the doors of Gangotri, Yamunotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath Dham, Chardham Yatra 2022 also started. It is a matter of concern that four more pilgrims have died of heart attack on the Yatra route.

Char Dham Yatra 2022: Seven more devotees who came on Chardham Yatra died of heart attack on Monday. Whereas, two trekkers going to Gomukh were killed and thirteen were injured when a vehicle fell into a gorge on Gangotri Highway late on Sunday night. In Badrinath Dham on Monday, Shakuntala (70) resident of Latur Maharashtra and Samjeet (80) resident of Latur, Maharashtra and Gujarat, female devotee Alka Nayak died of heart attack. 

On the other hand, Rudraprayag Chief Medical Officer Dr BK Shukla said that, on Monday, Prasukh Lal (66) resident of Katari Wala in Kedarnath, Gujarat and Rampyari (80) resident of Rajasthan died of heart attack. Kanu Bhai Patel (70), a resident of Gujarat, and PV Mohan Shankar (67), a resident of Andhra Pradesh, also died on the way to Yamunotri Dham.

Two trekkers going to Gomukh killed, 13 injured in
Uttarkashi. Two people died in a road accident on Sunday night near Kopang Band on Gangotri National Highway. While 13 people have been injured. A total of 15 people were in the vehicle. According to the police, all these people were going on the Gomukh trek. ITBP personnel and Harshil police referred all the injured from Harshil Army Hospital in 108 ambulance to District Hospital Uttarkashi.

District Disaster Management Officer Devendra Patwal said that at around 1 pm on Sunday night, the vehicle suddenly became a victim of a vehicle accident near Kopang Band. In the accident, Alka Bote (45) resident of Aurangabad and Karthik Madhavan resident of Aurangabad died while being taken to Army Hospital Harshil of Maharashtra.

More than 4.28 lakh pilgrims reached Badrinath at
Gopeshwar. In Badrinath, devotees are standing in a 2.5 km long line on the Darshan Path to get a glimpse of the Lord. These days an unprecedented influx of faith is visible in Badrinath. This year from the period of opening of the doors till Monday evening, 428526 devotees have visited Lord Badri Vishal. 20493 passengers arrived on Monday.

Four and a half lakh pilgrims reached Gangotri-Yamunotri in  
Uttarkashi. Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham Yatra is going on smoothly. So far, more than four and a half lakh pilgrims have returned after having darshan of Mother Ganga and Yamuna in both the dhams. There are long queues of pilgrims for darshan at Baba Vishwanath Temple in Uttarkashi. Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham have once again reached the peak.
