Uttarakhand News: Civil police will be handed over revenue areas with tourism activities

Revenue Police System in Uttarakhand In view of tourism activities, these areas will be handed over to civil police in view of security. Chief Secretary Dr. SS Sandhu held video conferencing with District Magistrates and Superintendents of Police regarding handing over of revenue areas to Civil Police.

State Bureau, Dehradun: Revenue Police System in Uttarakhand: In view of the increasing tourism activities in the revenue areas of the state, these areas will be handed over to the civil police in view of security. Chief Secretary Dr. SS Sandhu said that the areas where tourism and commercial activities have increased in revenue areas should be included in the Civil Police on a priority basis.

Most of the hilly areas of the state come under the revenue police. With the passage of time, tourism is increasing rapidly here due to the natural beauty of these areas. Due to this, the number of hotels, homestays, and resorts, etc. have also increased rapidly here. Along with this, criminal activities have also been seen here.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami gave instructions

The recent Ankita murder case is an example of this. In view of this, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had directed the Chief Secretary and Director General of Police to hand over the revenue areas to the Civil Police in a phased manner. Chief Secretary Dr. SS Sandhu held a meeting through video conferencing with District Magistrates and Superintendents of Police regarding handing over of revenue areas to the Civil Police.

He said that in the areas where there is a need for civil police, their proposals should be sent to the government immediately. Where there is a need to open civil police stations and reporting posts or expand their area, their proposals should be sent to the government soon.

He also directed Director General of Police Ashok Kumar to fix the category of heinous crimes. He also asked to immediately hand over the investigation of all the cases included in the category of the heinous crime to the civil police and register an FIR.

The mobile app will be launched for the safety of working women

In the meeting, Additional Chief Secretary Radha Raturi expected to work more sensitively toward women’s safety. He said that the police will have to work more actively in this.

He expected the police to make such a mobile app, in which women working in any field can register their information so that in case of untoward incidents, they can get immediate information.

He also expected the police to set up a call center from where these women should be known about their movements from time to time. Along with the promotion of this app, he also directed to make women and their relatives aware of it.
