Jagran Correspondent, Nainital: New Year 2023: The year 2023 is going to be very special for star gazing. This year, the Red Planets i.e. Mars, Jupiter, and Venus will be adorning the beauty of the sky for most of the time. Apart from sky fireworks, the view of the solar eclipse will also become the center of attraction.
Last lunar eclipse of the year is on October 28
Dr. Shashibhushan Pandey, Senior Astronomer of Aryabhatta Observational Science Research Institute (ARIES), Nainital said that this year a spectacular view of the world of planetary constellations is going to be seen.
Four eclipses of the Sun and Moon are going to happen this year. The first solar eclipse of the year will take place on 20 April. There will be a lunar eclipse on May 5. This will be followed by the second solar eclipse on October 14 and the last lunar eclipse of the year will take place on October 28.
Saturn and Venus will be close to each other on January 22
There will be nine attractive events of sky fireworks i.e. meteor showers in the year. In the midst of all this, the planet Venus will be shadowed in the sky, then Mars will be seen spreading its redness for about six months.
Saturn and Venus will be close to each other on 22nd January. In a year, Venus will sometimes meet the Moon and sometimes it will be seen near Mars.
Saturn will be very close to Earth in August
Jupiter, the largest planet in the solar system, would also seem to leave a different mark in the sky. Saturn will be very close to Earth in August. On the night of July 3, the supermoon will spread moonlight on the earth.
Mercury, which is less visible than the dazzling light of the Sun, will also have many opportunities to be seen this year. There will be a Geminid meteor shower in December.
ARIES will show main astronomical events
ARIES Director Prof. Dipankar Banerjee told that special astronomical events that will take place in the year will be shown through binoculars in ARIES. Along with this, scientific information will also be given. Programs will also be organized from time to time in ARIES to increase people’s interest in astronomy.
