MHA(Ministry of Home Affairs) announces new category of visa called ‘e-Emergency X-Misc Visa’ for Afghans: Officials

NEW DELHI: The Union home ministry on Tuesday declared another classification of visa to fast-tack the utilizations of Afghans who need to come to India considering the predominant situation in Afghanistan.

“MHA reviews visa arrangements in view of the current situation in Afghanistan. Another class of electronic visa called e-Emergency X-Misc Visa was introduced with fast-track visa applications for entry into India,” MHA said in an statement.

The announcement came two days after the Taliban caught power in Afghanistan.

A huge number of Afghans rushed into Kabul’s main airport on Monday, some so desperate to get away from the Taliban that they held onto a military jet as it took off and plunged to their deaths.

India also said that it will help members from Afghanistan’s little Sikh and Hindu people group to come to India, the foreign ministry said on Monday. “We are in constant touch with the agents of Afghan Sikh and Hindu people group. We will work with bringing home to India of the individuals who wish to leave Afghanistan,” unfamiliar service representative Arindam Bagchi said in a statement.

Meanwhile, somewhere around seven people died in the chaos, US authorities said, as America’s longest war ended with its enemy the victor.

The groups came while the Taliban enforced their rule over the capital of five million people after a lightning advance the nation over that required a little more than seven days to dethrone the country’s Western-backed government.

There were no significant reports of abuses or fighting, but many residents stayed home and remained fearful after the insurgents’ advance saw prisons emptied and armories looted.
