A major accident occurred due to a landslide from a hill on pilgrims returning from Kedarnath darshan in Sonprayag, Uttarakhand. One passenger died on the spot after being buried under the debris while three others died during treatment. The rescue team is continuously conducting operations in the entire area. Let us tell you that it is raining continuously in the area.

Pilgrims returning after visiting Kedarnath were buried under debris due to a heavy landslide from a hill about half a kilometer ahead of Sonprayag, one pilgrim died on the spot, and the injured passengers have been sent to Guptkashi Hospital for treatment. Three other passengers also died during treatment.

Due to rain in this area, stones are continuously falling from the hills, the rescue team is continuously continuing the operation in this area.

According to the information, some passengers were hit by debris after a sudden landslide half a kilometer ahead of Sonprayag on Monday evening at around 7.35 pm. These travelers were returning to Sonprayag after Kedarnath darshan.
As soon as the information was received, SDRF, police, and local people reached the spot where the injured were rescued and taken to the hospital while one passenger died on the spot in the incident. The other three died during treatment. The rescue team reached the place under the leadership of SDRF SI Ashish Dimri.

Deputy District Magistrate Ukhimath Anil Kumar Shukla said that this incident happened at a short distance from Sonprayag.  It is raining continuously in this entire area. Due to this, the rescue operation is facing problems. Rescue operations are going on in this entire area.
