Landslide zone of Mussoorie Road will scare in this monsoon too
Landslide zone on Dehradun-Mussoorie road will not be treated even till this monsoon season. In such a situation, the landslide zone can become a problem for the local citizens and tourists. The reason is that the plan for the treatment of landslide zone has not progressed beyond the DPR for two months.
Apart from the last monsoon season, due to heavy rains at different times, the landslide zone near Galogi Power House on Mussoorie Road has been active. The road here gets blocked due to landslides. In this regard, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had visited the landslide area on September 2, 2021.
Swastik Company got this job and the company also prepared the DPR. However, stating that the DPR was detailed, instructions were given to present it by dividing it into different parts. To this the consultant said that this would not be possible and it would be appropriate to do the treatment together. Consultant company Swastik sent the DPR to IIT Delhi on the instructions of PWD officials.
The company was also directed to submit the test report within 15 days. It has been almost two months since then and the report is nowhere to be found. According to DC Nautiyal, Executive Engineer, Lonvi Provincial Division, further action can be started only after the test report of the DPR is received. A reminder in this regard is being sent to the consultant. In this wait, the estimate of treatment work is also not being finalized. However, on preliminary basis, it is believed that about four crore rupees may be spent in this work.
Landslides happening up to 100 meters height
The landslide zone near Galogi Power House is quite wide. Landslides occur from this hill up to 100 meters in height and 80 meters in length. Apart from this, the water source is also erupting from the middle of the hill.
