Uttarakhand: The state will get revenue from GST by booking tourism tour packages

Every year lakhs of pilgrims from outside states come to Uttarakhand for Chardham Yatra, but these travelers book the tour package through the travel agency of their state. Uttarakhand does not get the benefit of GST on these services. The CEO of Ease My Trip has proposed to the government during the global investor conference to implement a single window system for tour packages in Uttarakhand on the lines of Goa.

Now only Uttarakhand will get the benefit of GST on booking tourism tour packages. In travel and tour packages, Ease My Trip will implement a single window system in Uttarakhand on the lines of Goa. This will employ about two thousand people in the coming two years.

Ease My Trip has given a proposal to the government for this. Every year lakhs of pilgrims from outside states come to Uttarakhand for Chardham Yatra, but these travelers book the tour package through the travel agency of their state. Uttarakhand does not get the benefit of GST on these services.

Ease My Trip CEO Rikant Patti has proposed to the government during the global investor’s conference to implement a single window system for tour packages in Uttarakhand on the lines of Goa. Ease My Trip is running a portal to provide packages for tourism, in which thousands of travel agencies are connected.

Implementing a single window system will provide benefits

According to Patti, in the coming two years, a business will be added to one thousand people in the tour package and transportation sector in Uttarakhand. Providing Easy My Trip guarantee to local people if they want to take a loan from the bank to start this business. A separate fund will be created for this.

Said, that by implementing a single window system in tour packages, the state government will benefit from GST. Uttarakhand welcomes tourists coming from outside as guests, but someone else takes the benefit of GST.
