Uttarakhand Students to Participate in Youth Parliament

Youth Parliament will be organized in every secondary school and college in the state. It will be included as an additional curriculum in schools.

Children of government and non-government secondary schools of the state will now not only study parliamentary functioning but will also play roles. Youth Parliament will be organized in secondary schools and colleges of the state from this year. In the meeting held by the government, instructions were given to the Secretary of Secondary Education and Secretary of School Education Ramnagar to take action to include it as an additional course.

This exercise is being carried out on the instructions of the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, Government of India, to increase the parliamentary knowledge of the students of secondary schools and colleges. A meeting has been held in the government under the chairmanship of the Principal Secretary of the Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs Department regarding the organization of the Youth Parliament. In which officials of secondary and higher education have been given different responsibilities.

In the order issued by the Principal Secretary, it has been said that the nodal officers will prepare SOP for organizing the Youth Parliament in all the districts and take action. In which cooperation of various concerned officers of the districts will be taken. Youth Parliament will be organized every year as per the instructions of the Central Government.

Pramod Kumar Dobriyal, the nodal officer of the Higher Education Department formed for the Youth Parliament, says that in higher education, the Youth Parliament is to be organized in 117 government colleges and 21 non-government colleges. For this, nodal officers have been made in every district. The government’s intention regarding the Youth Parliament is to increase the parliamentary knowledge of the students. The way power and opposition leaders are formed after the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha elections.

There are speakers in the house. Debates take place on Question Hour and public issues. Exactly like this, all this will happen in schools and colleges. For this, registration will have to be done on the website of the National Youth Parliament by 31st July. Whereas this year the Youth Parliament is to be organized till 31st October. According to the nodal officer, three youth parliaments from secondary education and the same number from higher education will be selected and sent to the central government. According to the instructions of the Central Government regarding the meeting and competition of the Youth Parliament, the Youth Parliament will be of one-hour duration. In which 50 to 55 students will be able to participate. There will be a question hour of 20 minutes. Hindi and English languages ​​can be used in the Youth Parliament.
