Independence Day of India 2021: Delhi Metro said its train services will run but no parking facility will be accessible from Saturday morning till Sunday evening.

The movement of vehicles will either stay suspended or limited on select routes in Delhi, in view of the Independence Day festivity at the Red Fort on Sunday. Delhi Police gave a warning on Thursday, declaring the traffic curbs.

The Delhi Metro said parking facilities at the metro stations won’t be accessible from Saturday morning till 2 pm on August 15. However, the metro train services will keep on running, a senior Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) official said.

“Parking facilities won’t be accessible at the Delhi Metro stations from 6 am on Saturday i.e, August 14, 2021 till 2 pm on Sunday i.e, August 15, 2021 in view of the safety efforts took on the event of Independence Day,” the DMRC said in an statement.

The Delhi police completed a full dress practice yesterday and streets in and around the Red Fort, from where the Prime Minister will address the country on Sunday, were blocked off from 4 am-10 am. However, approved vehicles were permitted to get to the routes.
