‘They Call Him Snake, Scorpion’: Nadda Says Congress Gets ‘Stomach Ache’ When PM Is Praised

Intensifying BJP’s campaign in poll-bound Rajasthan, party national president JP Nadda launched a stinging attack on Congress, saying its leaders get “stomach ache” when Prime Minister Narendra Modi is praised across the world.
Addressing a rally in Nadbai in Bharatpur district of Rajasthan, Nadda said urged the people to bring the BJP back to power in Rajasthan while underscoring that the Ashok Gehlot-led state government was “neck-deep in corruption”.
“The Congress gets stomach ache when Prime Minister Modi is praised across the globe. They call him ‘vile’, ‘snake’, ‘scorpion’, ‘tea-seller’,” PTI quoted Nadda as saying.
“The Gehlot government is neck-deep in corruption. They have given an open licence to each of their MLAs for corruption. There is corruption everywhere, out in the open,” he further said.
Nadda said before 2014, prime ministers visiting the US used to discuss terrorism and Pakistan featured in their talks. He said the focus under PM Modi had shifted to agreements on space, investment and technology.
“Before 2014, whenever international leaders discussed about India, they used to say ‘India and Pakistan’,” Nadda said. He said after Narendra Modi became prime minister, no one links the two countries now.
“Today, there is an agreement on space, cryogenic engines, foreign direct investment and technical support,” PTI quoted Nadda as saying.
Training his guns at Opposition parties, Nadda said BJP had eliminated dynastic and vote-bank politics.
“While others have become parties of families, in BJP the party is family. Omar Abdullah’s party (National Conference) is a party of the family, Mehbooba Mufti’s party (PDP) is a party of the family. In Punjab, the Shiromani Akali Dal is a family party so is the Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh,” Nadda said.
“In West Bengal, we are fighting TMC, a party of Mamata Banerjee and her nephew Abhishek Banerjee, Biju Janata Dal of Naveen Patnaik, YSR Congress in Andhra Pradesh, Chandrashekhar Rao’s party, DMK in Tamil Nadu, Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena — all are family parties,” the BJP president asserted.
Before addressing the gathering, Nadda inaugurated the newly built BJP party office in Bharatpur in presence of former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and other leaders.
