Tehri International Acro Festival with 135 Pilots!
Kamal Pimoli/ Srinagar Garhwal. Uttarakhand is known for its spirituality and beauty, but now along with adventure tourism, Uttarakhand is also making its mark in adventure sports. The International Acro Festival is being organized in Tehri Lake, the highest dam in Asia. National and international pilots are participating in large numbers in this. This festival will continue till November 28.
After becoming famous as a rafting destination, Tehri Lake is now also becoming a hub of adventure tourism. The International Acro Festival is being organized in Tehri Lake spread over 42 kilometers. During this, the participants are seen doing various stunts in the air over Tehri Lake.
Many adventurous events like Acro Flying, Sekiro Flying, Wing Suit Flying, and The Wedding will be seen in the organized program. Apart from this, other competitions including air stunts will be organized here. Atul Bhandari said that no fee is being charged to the pilots participating in the competition, while the winning contestant will be given a prize of Rs 2 lakh.

Many areas of Uttarakhand are being developed for paragliding, which now includes Tehri Lake. Atul Bhandari says that the flying distance here is 1400 meters, due to which it can become the second largest paragliding destination after Turkey. Also, the water of the lake here is not salty, due to which the paragliders will not get damaged in the water while landing in the lake.
Training is being given to youth
Tourism officer Atul Bhandari said that the department is organizing free paragliding courses for local youth. A target has been set by them to train more than 100 youth by the end of 2023 so that these youth can get trained and take up paragliding as employment.
