Teacher’s Day, 5 September
The Guru-Shishya tradition is an important, integral, and sacred part of Indian culture. No one can ever take the place of parents in life, because they are the ones who bring us into this colorful and beautiful world. It is believed that our parents are the first Gurus of life. The tradition of Guru and Teacher has been going on in India since ancient times, but the teachers teach us the real way of living. They inspire us to walk on the right path.
Teacher’s Day is celebrated every year on 5 September. Teacher’s Day is celebrated on 5 September across India to show respect to teachers on the birth anniversary of former President of India Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. ‘Guru’ has great importance in everyone’s life. He also has a special place in the society. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan believed strongly in education. He was a great philosopher and teacher. He loved teaching deeply. He possessed all the qualities of an ideal teacher. On this day, the Government of India also awards the best teachers nationwide.
Teachers teach us the difference between right and wrong, which helps us to follow the right path in life. They prepare us for the future so that we can achieve our goals. They help us to improve our lives, and make us a good person. Also, they help us to move in the right direction. They help us in every aspect of life, such as how to be a good person, how to contribute to society, and how to achieve our goals.
We should thank our teachers, who taught us and improved our lives. They are our role models, who have helped us to follow the right path. This day gives us a chance to express our respect and gratitude towards them. They play an important role in improving our lives, so no amount of thanks is enough for them. Let’s come together and thank the teachers, who taught us and improved our lives.
Teacher’s Day allows us to thank our teachers and acknowledge their contributions. We should apply the knowledge given by our teachers in our lives. On this day, we should thank them, appreciating their contribution, because without them our life is incomplete. Teachers should also get the respect they deserve. A Guru builds a good character in a disciple.
Today many teachers have started selling their knowledge. If we look at the current perspective, the tradition of Guru-Shishya is getting tarnished somewhere. Every day we hear news of teachers misbehaving with students and students misbehaving with teachers. Seeing this, a question mark appears on this invaluable Guru-Shishya tradition of our culture. It is the responsibility of both students and teachers to understand this great tradition in a better way and provide their cooperation in building a good society.
Jai Hind.
