Shardiya Navratri from today
Shardiya Navratri 2021: It is believed that by worshiping Goddess Durga with full devotion during these nine days, she is pleased with her devotees and showers blessings on them, but this year Shardiya Navratri is coming only for eight days.
The nine days of Shardiya Navratri worship of Maa Durga have started from Thursday. Devotees continue to visit the temples of Haridwar, Rishikesh, Haldwani including Dehradun since morning. Devotees thronged the Baba Vishwanath temple in Uttarkashi on the first day of Navratri.
On October 15, all the days of Vijayadashami Navratri are dedicated to Maa Durga. It is believed that by worshiping Goddess Durga with full devotion during these nine days, she is pleased with her devotees and showers blessings on them, but this year Shardiya Navratri is coming only for eight days. Because, this time Chaturthi and Panchami Tithi are falling together. In such a situation, the Shardiya Navratri starting from October 7 will last till 14 and on October 15, Vijayadashami i.e. Dussehra will be celebrated.
On the first day of Vikram Samvat i.e. from Pratipada (1st date) of Shukla Paksha of Chaitra month for nine days i.e. till Navami. And similarly after exactly six months from Pratipada of Ashwin month Shukla Paksha till Mahanavami i.e. one day before Vijayadashami.
Shardiya Navratras are considered more important from the point of view of spiritual practice. Ghat is established on the first day of Navratri on the Pratipada of Ashwin Shukla. Pratipada Tithi, Ashtami and Navami Tithi have special significance during Navratri. On Ashtami and Navami Tithi, girls are worshiped and the mother is bid farewell.
