Uttarakhand News: Rishikesh Gangotri Highway closed for the third day

Today, orange alert has been sounded in eight districts including Dehradun. The Rishikesh Gangotri Highway remained closed for the third day due to rain and debris. Bikram Singh, director of the Meteorological Department, said that the trough line that draws moisture from the Arabian Sea is still close to us. Due to this, it is raining continuously.

The Rishikesh Gangotri Highway has not been opened for traffic even for the third day on Thursday. The highway is closed in Narendra Nagar Bagadhar. It has been raining intermittently since overnight in Tehri district, due to which movement has remained difficult here. 

It is only There is a possibility of light to heavy rain in the next four days in eight districts of the state. However, relief from rain is expected in Uttarakhand after August 27. According to the Meteorological Department, after this, the monsoon will start slowing down.

It has been raining heavily in most parts of Uttarakhand for the past several days. Due to this life is disturbed. At present, till August 27, the order of rain will continue in most of the districts of the state. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for heavy rain in Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri, Haridwar, Nainital, Champawat, Udham Singh Nagar, and Bageshwar.

Yellow alert has been issued for heavy rainfall at isolated places in these districts on Thursday. There are chances of lightning with thunder and heavy to very heavy spells of rain. Whereas, on August 25, 26, and 27, there may be heavy rains in most of the districts of the state.

Yellow alert has been issued for these three days. Meteorological Department Director Bikram Singh said that the trough line which draws moisture from the Arabian Sea is still close to us. Due to this, it is raining continuously. In the next four days, the line may move to the other side, which may bring relief from rain.
