Protesters stage sit-in at railway station in Punjab’s Faridkot over death of youth

By Kamaljit Kaur Sandhu: A few people staged protests at the railway tracks of a station in Punjab’s Faridkot district, causing a Bathinda-Firozpur railway track to come to a halt. The demonstration is in response to the recent death of a young man, identified as Jagjivan Singh from Dudi village in Faridkot.
A few days ago, Jagjivan Singh was discovered injured on a railway track in Faridkot. Despite receiving treatment, he succumbed to his injuries.
Outraged by the incident and demanding justice, villagers and family members of the deceased have resorted to jamming the railway track.

They have declared that they will neither perform the last rites of the deceased nor vacate the railway track until the culprits responsible for his death are apprehended.
The police, at the scene are trying to persuade the demonstrators to disperse, however, the protesters are insisting on their demands for justice.
