Heavy rain continues in Uttarakhand, more than 105 roads closed
Uttarakhand News: Due to the continuous rain in the mountains of Uttarakhand, the rivers of the plain are in spate. Saryu flowing in Bageshwar, Kali flowing in Pithoragarh, Kosi flowing in Nainital district and Ramganga have reached the danger mark. While all the reservoirs present in Udham Singh Nagar have crossed the danger mark. According to DIG Kumaon Nilesh Anand Bharene, the police are keeping an eye on all the sensitive places.
Haldwani. It is raining continuously in six districts of Kumaon in Uttarakhand. The rain, which continued for 48 hours, is not taking its name to stop. Landslides are being seen on the roads in many places due to rain. Due to this, the movement is getting affected. People are getting stuck in the jam on the National Highway. In Champawat, Almora, Pithoragarh, and Nainital even the National Highway has been closed.
In view of the bad weather, the district magistrates in Nainital, Almora, and Champawat districts have decided to keep the schools closed on Monday as well. The international border has also been cut off from the frontier district of Pithoragarh. 6 roads connecting Pithoragarh to China and Nepal border have been closed. Gala-Jipti, Tawaghat-Ghatiyabagad, Ghatiyabagad-Lipulekh, Keykuti-Jaulikang, Pithoragarh-Dharchula, Jauljeevi-Munsiyari border road is closed.
Talking about Almora, many National Highways are closed
Almora-Ghat-Panar-Makdau National Highway is closed. Whereas Ghat in Pithoragarh – Pithoragarh NH is closed due to a landslide near the Delhi band. NH-100, 106 Swala Kot- Almora Highway is closed in Champawat. Whereas the Haldwani-Almora National Highway going from Jeolikot to Khairna in Nainital to Quarab has also been closed due to landslides at various places. The conditions of rain are such that more than 105 roads have been closed in the entire Kumaon division.
