Haridwar: Outraged Over Cow Slaughter
People from Hindu organizations and villagers, who reached the Piran Kaliyar area late in the evening after receiving information about cow slaughter, created a ruckus demanding the arrest of the accused.
Bhagwanpur police were also sent to the spot in a hurry. When the police started the process of burying the remains, people started protesting. After about three hours, people were pacified by assuring strict action against the accused.
According to the information received, on Tuesday night at around 8.30 pm, some people were slaughtering protected animals in the forest between Ranghadwala and Imlikheda villages of Piran Kaliyar police station area. It is said that during this time a villager saw it and informed other villagers about it. When people of Hindu organizations also came to know about this, a large number of villagers and people of Hindu organizations reached the spot, while the accused absconded.
On information, SO Ravindra Shah reached the spot with the force. After this, when the police called for JCB to bury the remains of the deceased and started taking action, people got angry. Seeing the increasing commotion, Bhagwanpur police also reached. The people of the Hindu organization and the villagers were demanding that the remains would not be allowed to be buried until the accused were arrested. After about three hours of hard work, the matter could be resolved with the assurance of quick identification, arrest of the accused, and strict action. SP Dehat Apni Kishore Singh said strict action will be taken after identifying the accused.
Sent a vehicle to collect the sample and called a doctor
In view of the demand from the people for strict action in the matter, samples of the remains recovered from the spot have been taken. SP Dehat Swapan Kishore Singh said that there was a delay in the arrival of the doctor due to a lack of arrangements for the vehicle. Later the police sent their vehicle and sent the doctor to the spot. After this, a sample has been taken and further action will be taken after receiving the report.
