The birth anniversary of Lord Ganesha, a symbol of knowledge, wisdom, and good fortune, will be celebrated on the Chaturthi of Bhadrapada month i.e. 31st August. Jyotishacharya Acharya Dr. Sushant Raj said that Shri Ganesh is considered to be the first revered God.
According to religious beliefs, Chandradev should not be seen at night on Ganesh Chaturthi. The Chaturthi Tithi, which begins at 3.33 pm on August 30, will end on August 31 at 3.22 pm. The auspicious time of worship will be from 11:30 am to 2 pm.
He told that according to the scriptures, Lord Ganesha was born on the day of Chaturthi of Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada. That day was Wednesday. Something similar is happening this year as well. Ganesh Utsav will be celebrated from August 31 to September 9.
Pandit Vinod Jha said that due to the corona infection, the pandals of Ganpati festivals were heard for the last two years, but this time there is gaiety among the devotees. This can be gauged from the fact that there is a market for the idols of Ganpati in all the markets on Chakrata Road.
Beautiful shops of idols of Shri Ganesh are adorned in the market. Small idols to be installed in homes are available in small and big markets across the city including Chakrata Road, Rajpur Road, Paltan Bazar, and Dharampur. Their price ranges from 100 to 5000 rupees.
Large idols are being sourced from outside for installation in temples and public pandals. Along with this, Shri Ganesh’s throne, clothes, and decorative items are also available at the shops. On Tuesday, there was a rush in the markets for the purchase of idols and other worship materials.
