Forest Minister Subodh Uniyal said on the death of tigers

Uttarakhand News: On the death of tigers, Forest Minister Subodh Uniyal said that some cases of poaching have come to the fore. He is being seriously investigated. Monitoring is being done by drone. Strict action will be taken against the culprits. Apart from this, Chief Conservator of Forests Sameer Sinha told that since January 2023 till now 12 tigers have died.

The Uttarakhand government is running the Save Tiger Project for the conservation of tigers. The Forest Department makes tall claims regarding this. At the same time, after the report regarding the death of tigers, Forest Minister Subodh Uniyal has said that some poaching cases have come to light.

They are being seriously investigated. Strict action is being taken against the culprits. Monitoring continues with drones. The government is spending a huge amount every year on the conservation of tigers. Even after this, cases of death of tigers are coming to the fore one after the other.  Earlier, Chief Conservator of Forests Sameer Sinha told that since January 2023 till now 12 tigers have died. He has also formed a committee regarding this. The tigers died after coming under the clutches of a hunter, it is being investigated. Questions are being raised regarding the death of 12 tigers in the last five months in Uttarakhand. 

In 2018, the number of tigers was found to be 442. 

Apart from this, Sameer Sinha told that a survey was done in 2018. In this, 442 tigers were found in Uttarakhand, which is an achievement in itself. On the other hand, more than 150 tigers have been found in the Shivalik range recently. However, more studies are still being done on this.

Strict action will be taken against the culprits

From 2001 to 2023, a total of 181 tigers have died in the state. These include cases of hunting, accidents, forest fires, mutual conflicts, and death by being trapped in nets. On the death of 13 tigers and tigresses in Uttarakhand in five months, the state’s CM Pushkar Singh Dhami said that this matter will definitely be assessed. If someone is found guilty, action will definitely be taken.
