Inspector Vinay Kumar of Cantt stated that a complaint was filed by Lt. Colonel Sandeep Shankar of RIMC Administration at Kotwali. The complaint stated that Cadet Akshat Mitra, a resident of Pratapgarh, Nadia, West Bengal, was admitted to RIMC on January 24 based on merit.
Scrutiny of the Cadet’s Certificate Reveals Tampering by his Parents on the Birth Certificate. It is reported that Cadet Akshat Mitra made two attempts to secure admission to RIMC. During his initial application in July 2021, his date of birth was recorded as November 25, 2008, and the certificate was issued by Nagar Panchayat Bakshi Ka Talab in Lucknow.
However, During the Second Application in April 2022, the Birth Certificate Listed the Date of Birth as January 23, 2010, which was issued by Gram Panchayat Devgram in District Nadia. Both Application Forms Carry the Signature of Malvika Mitra, the Mother of Cadet Akshat Mitra.
In response to the complaint, the Cantt Police initiated an investigation and filed a case against the cadet’s mother, Malvika Mitra, for forging the admission certificates. The accused was arrested and subsequently brought before a court, where she was sentenced to jail.
