DCP (Southeast) Rajesh Deo said that they received information at 11.56 am regarding the body parts being found near Sarai Kale Khan ISBT at Ring Road, adjoining the flyover, in the area under a construction site of Rapid Metro.

“On reaching the spot, it was found that some human body parts in various stages of decomposition and some hair were found,” the DCP said.

The officer said the crime scene was inspected by forensic experts and the remains have been transferred to AIIMS Trauma Centre for further proceedings. Efforts are on to ascertain the person’s identity, police said.

“The body parts include a skull and a wrist purportedly of a woman…,” said the officer.

“Prima facie, a case of homicide is made out and a case of murder is being lodged,” said the DCP.
