Maharashtra elections, 40 leaders including Modi become “BJP star campaigners
Maharashtra elections:
Ahead of the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday released its list of star campaigners and named 40 leaders, including the party’s top leadership including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, party chief Jagat Prakash Nadda and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The list also includes Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, followed by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Union Ministers Bhupendra Yadav, Smriti Irani, Piyush Goyal, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Pramod Sawant and many others. State leaders: Former Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, Vinod Tawde, Narayan Rane, Pankaja Munde, Chandrakant (Dada) Patil, Girish Mahajan, Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil, Ashish Shelar, Udayan Raje Bhosale, Raosaheb Danve Patil, Ashok Chavan, Sudhir Mungantiwar, Navneet Rana, others. The star campaigners will also campaign for the BJP candidate contesting the by-election in Nanded Lok Sabha constituency in Maharashtra. Earlier, the BJP had also released a 40-member list for the upcoming Jharkhand Assembly elections. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Nayab Singh Saini (Haryana), Mohan Majhi, CM Sarma, Vishnu Dev Sai (Chhattisgarh) are also prominent names in the list.
The saffron party on Sunday released its first list of 99 candidates for the Maharashtra Assembly elections. The elections are scheduled to be held on November 20 and the results will be declared on November 23. Maharashtra has 288 assembly constituencies, and the BJP is part of the ruling Mahayuti alliance, which includes the Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde faction) and the Ajit Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). Fadnavis will contest from Nagpur South West, while Maharashtra BJP president Chandrashekhar Krishnarao Bawankule will contest from the Kamathi assembly constituency. Other important candidates include minister Girish Mahajan who will contest from Jamner, followed by Sudhir Mungantiwar from Ballarpur, Srijaya Ashok Chavan from Bhokar, Ashish Shelar from Wandre West, Mangal Prabhat Lodha from Malabar Hill, Rahul Narvekar from Colaba and Chhatrapati Shivendra Raje Bhosale from Satara.
Polling for 288 assembly seats in Maharashtra will be held in a single phase on November 20. After this, the elections will be announced on November 23. The division of the quarters in the Mahavikas Aghadi (MVA) has been done in the formulation of 85-85-85. This means that the Ukrainian power faction has got 85 seats, the Sharad supporting faction has got 85 seats and the Congress has also got its candidates on 85 seats. Let us tell you that the term of the eastern region in Maharashtra is ending on November 26.
PM Modi, who is expected to address more than 10 rallies between November 7 and 14, tops the list of ‘star campaigners’, which also includes Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
According to the historians, Modi is set to hold the last rallies in Maharashtra. Modi will appeal for votes for the Mahayuti from November 5 to 14. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to hold several election rallies in Maharashtra for about 8 days.
