BJP Minister Targeted in Grenade Blast Jammu and Kashmir Rajouri
On Monday another BJP leader Ghulam Rasool Dar, the district head of the BJP’s Kisan Morcha – and his wife were shot dead in south Kashmir’s Anantnag town.
Srinagar: A two-year-old kid was killed and six people harmed after a grenade blast inside the home of Jasbir Singh, a local BJP leader, in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri the previous day evening.
It is not declared, as of now, if the incident was a terrorist attack.
Authorities have said the blast at first injured seven relatives, including Mr Singh.
A two-year-old nephew of Mr Singh – identified by news agency PTI as Veer – later died from injuries sustained in the grenade explosion while getting treatment at at a government hospital.
Sources disclosed to PTI that the child’s body has given over to the family for the last rites.
The BJP has strongly censured the assault and Ravinder Rana, the head of the party’s jammu and kashmir’s unit, has engaged the police to quickly capture those responsible.
Mr Singh’s family has claimed insufficient security cover, as indicated by PTI.
The family told police a grenade had been thrown at their home. Introductory reports suggest it exploded on the roof.
Police rushed to the home and collected samples to learn the itention of the blast.
Before long thereafter local people assembled and raised slogans against the organization.
A closure call was sounded after the blast and shops in many parts of the town are closed.
