Changes in PCS exams of the UKPSC will now be on the lines of the Civil Services Examination syllabus of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). 

Change in the interview pattern of the Commission

The said change in the examination syllabus of the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission (UKPSC) was expected for a long time, but it could not be implemented. In this sequence, a change was made in the interview pattern of the Commission in the past. In the new system, code marking of the candidate’s name or roll number was arranged in the interview.

Earlier, the interview for the Commission’s examinations was done on the basis of the candidate’s file, name, and roll number. Confirming this, the Chairman of the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission, Dr. Rakesh Kumar said that the aim of the commission is to provide a better system to the youth, especially the youth of Uttarakhand.

He reiterated that 30 percent horizontal reservation for women of Uttarakhand origin in the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission examination will be available only from the PCS Mains examination itself, the Commission is preparing to implement it. There is no doubt or confusion regarding this, candidates should not get misled.

The exam syllabus of the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission is difficult

The syllabus of the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission’s PCS exam was considered difficult in terms of the Union Public Service Commission’s exam syllabus. Regarding this, in view of the demands, protests, etc. of the examinees, the change was discussed several times at the level of the commission, but the final decision could not be taken.

Before the corona period year 2020, the commission accepted the need for this change in principle, but it could not be implemented. Uttarakhand Public Service Commission Chairman Dr. Rakesh Kumar told when asked that the commission is now preparing to implement this change soon.

With its implementation, the candidates appearing for the PCS exam will not have to prepare separately for different exams. After the change of syllabus, he will be able to give PCS exam and civil service exam in a single preparation. He said that a double-layer security system and double lock system have been implemented for the purity of the examinations of the Commission.

Said that everyone should be assured this, every mistake will be rectified at the commission level. Strict action will be taken against every guilty, and strict punishment will be given. Told that despite this difficult time, the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission is going to conduct nine examinations from February to April-2023. The Commission is firm on the calendar issued regarding the examinations.

Today there will be a meeting on giving horizontal reservation

According to the new law, the Commission’s important meeting will be held on February 7 at the commission headquarters to give 30 percent horizontal reservation to women of Uttarakhand origin in the examinations of Uttarakhand Public Service Commission and to implement it from the PCS main examination to be held from February 23 to 26.

A final decision will be taken after discussing the matter in the meeting. Commission Chairman Dr. Rakesh Kumar confirmed this. He told that the meeting has been called, and the final decision will be taken after discussing all the aspects to implement the system in the meeting.
