Any problem should be solved peacefully: PM Modi
Modi Putin Meeting Kazan, Russia:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived to participate in the BRICS Summit and on the very first day he met President Vladimir Putin. Both the leaders held bilateral talks. During his meeting with Putin, PM Modi appealed for peace by referring to the Russia-Ukraine war in a very frank manner.
Modi said that we believe that any problem should be solved peacefully. During this, a glimpse of the deep friendship between PM Modi and Putin was seen in the state form and a lot of warmth was seen. PM Modi has reached Kazan to attend the 16th BRICS Summit on the invitation of Putin.
During the media briefing, Modi once again reiterated his plea for peace to Putin, referring to the Russia-Ukraine war and said: “I am in constant touch with President Putin regarding the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine. India believes that the conflict should be resolved peacefully. We support peace and stability keeping humanity in mind. Our effort is to keep humanity at the forefront. India is ready to provide all possible support for this in the times to come.”
Before the Russia visit, Prime Minister Modi had said, “I am going on a two-day visit to Kazan on the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin. I will participate in the 16th BRICS summit. India attaches great importance to close cooperation within BRICS. BRICS has emerged as an important platform for dialogue and discussion on issues such as global development agenda, multilateralism, climate change, economic cooperation, building strong supply chains, promoting cultural and public relations.”
In the meeting President Putin teased Modi and jokingly said, “Our relations are so strong that PM Modi will understand me without any translation. His statement led to a wave of laughter in the Governor’s Palace room. PM Modi too could not stop laughing at Putin’s statement.
President Putin further said, “In Kazan we will have to take a number of important decisions, which are aimed at further improving the activities of the association and strengthening multifaceted cooperation within its framework. He said that we attach great importance to our cooperation in this area, I mean that our states were at the origins of the creation of the association. Putin said, “We welcome your decision to open the Consulate General of India in Kazan. The expansion of India’s diplomatic presence in Russia will contribute to the further development of bilateral relations. Putin said that the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission will be held in New Delhi on December 12. Work on our joint project is going on at a fast pace.
Putin said that we welcome PM Modi’s decision to open the Indian Consulate in Kazan. India’s policies will benefit the partnership and relations of the two countries. We are very happy to see you and your delegation in Russia.”
It is worth noting that during his visit to Russia in July this year, Putin had awarded the Indian PM with Russia’s highest civilian award, the Order of St. Andrew the Apostle the First-Called. Now PM Modi is on a visit to Kazan. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar praised the growing relations between the two countries.
The whole world is looking at what role India will play in reducing the tension growing in the world? These days there is a lot of tension due to Israel’s war with Hamas and Hezbollah and the Russia-Ukraine war. This tension can increase even more.
PM Modi is strongly supporting peace in Kazan. Now it remains to be seen whether Modi will be able to make some significant contribution towards world peace with his magic or not? I have full hope. And you??
