88 roads closed in Uttarakhand after rain

After the rains in Uttarakhand, the problems of the people have also increased. Due to the rains, 88 roads across the state have been closed. Due to the closure of the roads, the commuters are forced to spend the night on the roads.

Due to the rain in Uttarakhand, 88 roads including the National Highway were closed. Due to this, people are facing a lot of problems in movement. Chief Engineer of Public Works Department Ayaz Ahmed said that 233 JCB machines have been installed to open the closed roads.

He said that till Monday 64 roads were closed in the state. But due to the rain on Wednesday, 60 other roads were also closed. However, out of the bandh by the department, 36 roads were opened for traffic during the day. Due to which now 88 roads are running in the state. He said that efforts are on to open these roads.

Due to the closure of the roads after the rain, the difficulties of the pilgrims have also doubled. Due to the closure of the road, commuters have to spend the night on the road. The work has been done on a war footing by the administration to open the closed roads, so that the difficulties of the commuters can be reduced.

in the state include Thal-Munsiyari state road, Badethi-Badrigad motorway, Lambgaon- Motna-Razakhet- Ghansali motorway, Haripur- Ichhadi- Kwanu- Minas motorway, Kalsi- Chakrata motorway and Chakrata – Contains Lakhamandal Motorway.

Rivers overflow due to rain in Kumaon, many roads closed

It rained on Tuesday with a sudden change in weather across Kumaon. Due to the rains in the hill districts, a large number of rural roads including some major roads were also closed due to debris. Major roads include Thal-Munsiyari and Jauljibi-Munsiyari roads.

The Tanakpur-Tawaghat highway was also closed for about 4 hours due to debris. Along with the marginal Pithoragarh, Didihat, Munsiyari, it has rained in the entire district. In Pithoragarh district total 5 roads including major and rural are closed. Around 20 vehicles are stranded here due to the closure of Munsiyari-Jauljibi road.

The Thal-Munsiyari road was closed due to debris coming near Ratigad. Amid heavy rains, Tanakpur-Tawaghat NH in Chetaldhar, Tawaghat and Sobla road remained closed for about 4 hours due to heavy debris and boulders at Tawaghat. 

Debris came on Dehradun-Mussoorie road, traffic disrupted Mussoorie.

Due to heavy rains in the tourist city of Mussoorie, debris came at many places on the Mussoorie-Dehradun road. The Public Works Department team reached on the information and got the debris removed by installing JCB. During this, the police maintained the traffic system. After sometime the vehicular traffic was smooth.

Orange alert issued
for heavy rain The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for heavy rain. An alert has also been issued for the districts of Dehradun, Nainital, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli etc. on June 29.Whereas, on June 30, there is a yellow alert for heavy rain somewhere in Nainital, Bageshwar, Pithoragarh. Rivers are in spate after rain in mountainous districts.
