At least five naxals were killed in a gunfight with security forces in Jharkhand’s Chatra district on Monday, police said.

By India Today News Desk: Jharkhand police on Monday said at least five naxals were killed in a gunfight with security forces in Chatra district. While two naxals carried a reward of Rs 25 lakh each and the other three carried a reward of Rs 5 lakh each, police told ANI.
The encounter took place along the Chatra-Palamu border in Lawalong police station area, around 160 km from the state capital Ranchi. A huge cache of arms and ammunition was also seized from the spot, Chatra SP Rakesh Ranjan told PTI.
“The five naxals killed include, Gautam Paswan and Charlie were both SAC members and carried a reward of Rs 25 lakh each. Nandu, Amar Ganjhu, and Sanjeev Bhuiyan were sub-zonal commanders and carried a reward of Rs 5 lakh each,” Jharkhand police said.
Police also said that they have recovered AK 47 and insas rifles and the operation is still going on.
