Vinesh Phogat Disqualified from Olympics, Dreams Shattered.”
Vinesh Phogat has been disqualified from the final match in the Paris Olympics. Due to her weight being a little more than 50 kg, she has been shown the way out of the Paris Olympics. Vinesh Phogat’s dream of winning the gold medal was shattered in this way. With Vinesh being disqualified, 140 crore Indians have also suffered a big shock. Till now we Indians are not able to believe how all this happened suddenly.
Vinesh Phogat was the first Indian female wrestler to reach the final of the Olympics. She defeated Cuba’s Yusnelis Guzman Lopez 5-0 and moved towards winning the gold medal in the 50 kg category of women’s wrestling competition in the Paris Olympics. But fate had something else in store. Just before the final match, Vinesh Phogat’s weight was found to be 50 to 100 grams more than the set standard. A mere 50 grams of weight overshadowed the expectations of 140 crore Indians and Vinesh Phogat missed out on creating history.
Vinesh Phogat defeated her enemies in the ring, but she could not defeat herself. Vinesh had defeated the defending champion Yui Sasaki in the very first match. If she and her coach had cared for their food and drink better, then Vinesh Phogat would not have been disqualified. Vinesh missed the gold here because of herself. Her weight was found to be 50 to 100 grams more. The rules do not allow this and she was disqualified. On Tuesday night, Vinesh Phogat’s weight was 2 kg more. After this, Vinesh lost her sleep at night. She did not sleep the whole night. She kept exercising all night and kept reducing her weight. However, when the final weighing was done, her weight was found to be 50 to 100 grams more.
