Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority (UCADA) is soon going to invite Expressions of Interest (EOI) from the private sector for where these helipads are to be built. Under this, UCADA will tell in which areas helipads need to be built. For this, interested persons will be able to apply to build a helipad on their own or with the help of the government.

This problem is coming

The state government is continuously expanding heli services. Providing Heli service, especially in hilly areas is a priority of the government. Many efforts were made for this, but due to land-related problems, it could not achieve the expected success. The reason is that wherever government land is being considered for building a helipad or heliport, the problem of forest area is coming to the fore.

The government made a new policy

The state government has recently made a new policy to build helipads or heliports through the private sector. According to this policy, any person can build a heliport on his own or by taking some land on lease. For this, a provision has been made to give a 50 percent subsidy by the government.

Lease can be given to the government for 15 years

Along with this, a provision has also been made that if someone is not able to build a helipad or heliport himself, then he can give this land to the government on a lease of 15 years. For this, along with the annual fee, he will also be given a part of the profit from it. After 15 years he will get that land and heliport back. UCADA will decide the location and invite applications for where the helipad will be built.

work on the ground will be expedited

Now preparations have been started to put this policy on the ground. In this context, the state government is preparing to issue EOI in January for those places where the need for building helipads is felt more. With this, the operation of heli services can be started at these places.

People showed interest in building a heliport

UCADA Chief Executive Officer C Ravishankar said that even in the investor conference, some people have shown interest in building the heliport. In such a situation, EOIs will be invited by releasing the list of places next month.
