Ketchup being used in restaurants
According to Subhash Raturi, director of Mandua King restaurant in Mianwala, the earlier tomato sauce was made, but now tomato ketchup is used for fast food items. Although tomatoes are being bought for the things in which tomatoes are used as salads, the demand is less than before.
Waiting for tomatoes to become cheaper, till then puree will work
Housewife Pratibha, a resident of Dharampur, says that tomatoes used to be expensive earlier also, but after a few days, the prices used to become normal. This time there has not been much difference in the price of tomatoes for more than a month. In such a situation, the puree is being used for breakfast and food for children going to work. Anita Devi, a resident of Patel Nagar, told that at first they were waiting that tomatoes would be cheaper when the prices did not come down, they were using tomato puree as an alternative.
