People’s money should be spent on the people”: Modi

PM Modi dedicated development projects worth Rs 6700 crore to the nation at a program held at the Sports Complex in Sigra, Varanasi, his parliamentary constituency.
On this occasion, he said: “Till 10 years ago, the government’s scams worth lakhs of crores of rupees used to be the talk of the town in newspapers. The topic of discussion used to be scams worth lakhs of crores of rupees. Today, the start of work worth Rs 15 lakh crore in just 125 days is being discussed in every household. This is the change the country wants.
Modi said that it is a big priority of his government that public money should be spent on the people, on the development of the country and it should be spent with complete honesty. Modi said: “In the last 10 years, we have started a very big campaign for building infrastructure in the country and this campaign has two biggest goals. The first goal is to increase the convenience of citizens through investment and the second goal is to provide jobs to the youth through investment.
Modi further added that railway tracks are being laid on newly built highways, new airports are being built. This is not just work of bricks, stones and iron rods but it is increasing the convenience of the people and the youth of the country are also getting jobs.
The Prime Minister further added , “Today is a very auspicious day for Kashi. I have just come to you after inaugurating a big eye hospital. With the blessings of Baba (Bholenath), the foundation stone and inauguration of projects worth thousands of crores of rupees have been done here. Today, different airports were inaugurated in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Apart from Babatpur airport, Agra and Saharanpur’s Sarsawa airport are also included in this.
Speaking further, Modi said:
“Overall, Banaras has got projects in every field like education, skill development, sports, health, tourism and all these projects have brought many new employment opportunities for the youth along with facilities.”
PM Modi further said: “When you ordered me to serve for the third consecutive time, I had talked about working at three times the speed. It has not even been 125 days since the government was formed… In such a short time, we have started work on projects worth more than 15 lakh crore rupees in the country. Most of this budget has been in the name of the poor, farmers and youth.” Modi dedicated 23 development projects worth Rs 6700 crore to the nation at a program in Sports Complex, Sigra, Varanasi.
Earlier, he reached Varanasi and inaugurated the R.J. Shankar Eye Hospital run by Kanchi Math. Out of these projects, 16 development projects worth more than Rs 3,200 crore are for Varanasi. The Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone for the expansion of the runway of Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport in Varanasi, construction of a new terminal building and related works at a cost of about Rs 2870 crore.
