Order issued to shoot man eating Leopard in Dehradun

Uttarakhand News Divisional Forest Officer Dehradun Nitishamani Tripathi said that patrolling has been done in the area since morning on Monday also. Three teams of the Forest Department are busy searching for Guldar in three shifts. Also, Chief Wildlife Warden Sameer Sinha has declared Guldar a man-eater and ordered him to shoot him.

Jagran correspondent, Dehradun. Guldar, who has been a cause of terror in the Kimadi area for a long time, turned a 10-year-old child into a bite near Galjwadi last night. The Forest Department lost its sleep after the death of the second child in the area within two months. Guldar has been declared a man-eater and orders have been given to shoot him.

Two veterinarians have been deployed in the area. Besides, eight cages and 12 camera traps have been installed in the area. A large number of forest personnel are being deployed and patrolling around the Gurjar settlement. On seeing the henchman, he will first be tranquilized, during which he will be shot if necessary.

Last Sunday night, Guldar attacked 10-year-old Sharafat at around 8.15 pm in Maradi Gurjar Basti adjacent to Galjwadi One Beat. The child had gone towards the forest to do some research in the colony itself. Where Guldar, who was sitting in an ambush in the bushes, attacked him.

On hearing the scream, the child’s father Mir Hamza, and other villagers came out and tried to free the child from the jaws of Guldar. When the crowd arrived, the henchman left the child and ran towards the forest. The badly injured child died before he could be taken to the hospital. On receiving the information, the forest department and police teams reached the spot but had to face opposition from the residents.

The residents of the colony created a ruckus, accusing the forest department of negligence. Also stopped the police from taking away the dead body. However, later the police pacified the residents and the body was taken for post-mortem. Here, the forest department and police teams also combed the area till late at night.
