Microsoft Outage: Affects Uttarakhand also

Technical glitch in Microsoft’s server affected the booking of air services and tickets in Uttarakhand also. Due to the non-availability of computerized boarding passes at Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun, manual boarding passes were issued to passengers. However, the technical glitch in Microsoft’s servers did not affect banking services.

Jagran Correspondent, Dehradun: Technical glitch in Microsoft’s server affected the booking of air services and tickets in Uttarakhand also. Online booking of air tickets came to a halt from 10.30 am. The situation was such that even the print-outs of the ticket booking done earlier by the passengers were not released. Due to the non-availability of computerized boarding passes at Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun, manual boarding passes were issued to passengers.

More than a dozen flights at Jolly Grant airport were affected and delayed due to server down. At the same time, the company canceled two flights coming from Delhi in the evening. Although air services were not affected at Pantnagar airport, boarding pass manuals were issued there also. At the same time, server failure had no significant impact on banking services.

The online booking service for air tickets had come to a standstill at 10:30 in the morning, but this impacted the timetable of air services. From Jolly Grant airport, the flight to Mumbai departs at 11:30 am the flight to Pune Maharashtra departs at 12:44 pm, and the flight to Pune Maharashtra departs at 1:13 pm.

The flight leaving for Kolkata at 12:40 pm left at 1.38 pm, and the flight leaving for Ahmedabad at 2:15 pm left at 3.03 pm. All these flights were of Indigo Airlines. Whereas Vistara Airlines flight to Mumbai departed at 2:55 pm, Indigo Airlines flight to Lucknow departed at 3.54 pm and Indigo Airlines flight to Lucknow departed at 6:30 pm. The flight leaving for Hyderabad at 5:45 could take off only after 7 pm. Apart from this, other flights also departed one to two hours late from their scheduled time. Not only this, the Indigo Airlines flight coming from Delhi to Dehradun at 5.45 and 7:30 pm was canceled by the company.

The server malfunction also affected the boarding passes of passengers. Boarding pass manuals were issued by all the companies. Not only this, manual tickets had to be issued for the passengers who had to buy tickets from the airport.
