Madarsa or “Terrorism Training Center”?

The famous Madrasa “Jamia Habibiya Masjid-e-Azam” located in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh is under the scanner of a fake currency printing case after the raid. During this investigation, many shocking facts related to the Madrasa have come to light. During the police raid, many objectionable books related to Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) were recovered from the Madrasa.

During this raid, the police not only recovered fake currency and currency printing machines but also many objectionable books. After the recovery of these books, the matter became serious, especially when objectionable books and pictures written on RSS were also found in the room of the Madrasa’s Principal Maulvi Mohammad Tafseerul Arifin. Inflammatory literature in the Urdu language has also been recovered from the Principal’s room.

In these books, RSS has been called “the biggest terrorist organization of the country”, and RSS has been accused of spreading terrorism. Many provocative articles have been written against RSS. This provocative literature also mentions many terrorist incidents in the country and RSS has been held responsible for these incidents. This provocative book has been written by a retired Muslim police officer of Maharashtra Police, which is also being investigated deeply by the investigating agencies.

These books were being used to ‘mentally brainwash’ the students of madrasas. There have been allegations of terrorist connections of madrasas in Uttar Pradesh earlier also, but the revelations made from this madrasa in Prayagraj are very shocking. This madrasa had become a factory for printing fake notes.

One of the books recovered during the raid has been written by former Inspector General of Police of Maharashtra S.M. Musharraf. It is worth noting that Musharraf has also written many controversial books on the Mumbai 26/11 attack, which are also being sold online.

Now the question arises what is the real motive behind this book which describes RSS as a terrorist organization? Police are investigating this matter deeply. According to sources, youth from many states including West Bengal, Orissa, Bihar, and Jharkhand come to study in this madrasa. In such a situation, what is the connection between these books spreading venom against RSS and the fake currency factory in the madrasa, has become an important subject of investigation for the police. Police are also looking into whether the minds of the students studying in the madrasa were being poisoned by RSS.

This madrasa was not registered and the source of its financial support is unknown. Police have seized three bank accounts.

About 76 children were taking education in the madrasa. They used to study by staying here. Since the madrasa was not registered, it did not get any government support. In such a situation, the madrasa must have been spending about four lakh rupees per month. From where was this expenditure met, this is the big question. During the interrogation of the arrested accused and the madrasa manager, it was found that the madrasa was being run with the help of people i.e. donations. Now the police are investigating to find out when, from where, and how much money came into the madrasa’s account.

It is worth noting that after the case of printing fake notes in the madrasa came to light, the police arrested four accused including the Maulvi, and sent them to jail. Also, the madrasa has been vacated. The PDA has sealed the madrasa. The police have applied to the court to take the arrested accused on police custody remand.

In such a situation, the question arises of where the financial help for running the madrasa came. In such a situation, the police and intelligence agencies scrutinize the bank accounts of the madrasa as well as the accounts of the people associated with it, and as soon as the allegations are proven, quick and strict action is expected under the National Security Act.
