Haridwar: Police Argue About Removing Kavad

A heated argument broke out between the Kanwariyas and the police late Thursday night near the toll plaza in the Bahadarabad police station area when the police asked some of the Kavadis to remove the Kavadis from the road. The incident occurred late on Thursday night. When Kavadiya was sitting on the road near Bahadarabad toll plaza keeping Kavad. The police asked them to remove the Kanwar kept on the road as the traffic on the road was being affected. But the Kanwariyas misbehaved with the police. The situation worsened when the Kavad passengers started creating ruckus accusing the police of breaking the Kavad. After this, the Kanwariyas blocked the toll plaza. On receiving the information, police station chief Naresh Rathore reached the spot and calmed down the matter by convincing the Kanwariyas and got the traffic jam cleared.

Police have been deployed at the toll plaza to maintain peace. Police officials said they are monitoring the situation. Ready to prevent any untoward incident. CO Bahadarabad Shantanu Parasar said that there is peace in the area.
