Dehradun News: The daughters pressed the lighter button to light the stove, suddenly huge flames rose from the stove and both of them got burnt. Zahid also got badly burnt while trying to save his daughters.
A cylinder caught fire while cooking food in the morning in a house in Jamanpur of Vikas Nagar in Dehradun. While extinguishing the fire, the father and his three daughters got burnt. The fire brigade personnel who reached the spot brought the fire under control after a lot of effort. Due to the fire, all the belongings of the house were burnt to ashes.
Zahid Khan, a resident of Bilsanda, Pilibhit, Uttar Pradesh, lives in a rented house with his family in Jamanpur. On Tuesday morning, Zahid, along with his wife Amana Begum (40) and elder daughter Rehana (25) were preparing to go to work in the factory. His younger daughters Muskaan (13) and Suwaliya (15) were starting to prepare breakfast.
Suddenly huge flames rose from the stove and both of them got burnt. Zahid also got badly burnt while trying to save his daughters.
Four members were rescued and taken out.
Amana and Zahid’s son Sohail (13) ran out of the house. During this, elder daughter Rehana took the father and two younger sisters to the bathroom and poured water on them. After that, the bathroom was locked from inside for safety. Seeing the flames rising from the house, a crowd of people gathered around. On information, fire brigade personnel and the police station reached the spot. The team rescued four members of the family. All four were sent to Coronation Hospital in Dehradun for treatment. It took about 45 minutes to control the fire, but by then the items kept in the house were burnt to ashes. Sidkul police station in-charge Mohan Singh said that Zahid Khan was seriously burnt. His condition is out of danger. Told that all three daughters had minor burns. Leakage in the cylinder is said to be the reason behind the fire.
