Hasnain, a resident of Shani Bazar Indiranagar, lives here with his family. On Wednesday, Hasnain’s wife sent his eight-year-old son Rizwan to the shop to buy sugar at around 4:40 pm. The drain was overflowing due to the rain since Tuesday night. The child suddenly fell into the drain. As soon as he fell into the drain, two children standing nearby started shouting. The nearby shopkeepers informed the police and administration.

On receiving the information, City Magistrate AP Vajpayee, Municipal Health Officer Dr. Manoj Kandpal, and Banbhulpura Police Station Head Neeraj Bhakuni reached out to the team. Later, the fire brigade team was also called. Till the time of writing the news, the child could not be traced. However, the children who were making noise in the beginning kept changing their statements due to which the police and the people remained in doubt whether Rizwan had drowned or not.

On the other hand, the drain of Damuwadhunga Ambedkar Park was also overflowing. Around 6 pm, Vijay, a resident of Damuwadhunga, was going home on his bike. While crossing the drain, he was swept away along with his bike in the strong current of water. However, after a little investigation, it was found that the people in the car had come out of the car in time, and the police and the people heaved a sigh of relief. Heavy Rains Wash Away Road Near Culvert for Third Time.

Once again, a part of the road was washed away due to the strong flow in the drain near Chakluva. The base wall built under the culvert has also been washed away due to which the slab of the culvert has tilted to the other side. PWD has closed the road for traffic. PWD will now build a Bailey bridge here. Due to the rain, the strong water flow from the forest caused heavy damage to the culvert built on the Ramnagar-Kaladhungi-Haldwani road near Chakluva. A part of the road was washed away due to the water. The slab built above the culvert also tilts to the other side. On receiving the information, PWD officials inspected the spot. An iron base has been placed under the slab of the culvert by using a crane. PWD EE Ashok Kumar said that a Bailey bridge will be built here for now. He expressed hope that the road would be opened within three days.

Let us tell you that the base of this culvert has been washed away twice in the past. Water had also damaged the road. A few days ago, PWD repaired the road and culvert and opened it for traffic. On the other hand, the villagers allege that PWD got so much time in between. Even after this, PWD was not able to make security arrangements. If PWD had already made a check dam or wire barricading on both sides of the road, then the culvert and the road would not have been damaged today.
